Why Babywearing is the BEST

Happy Baby Wrap

Babywearing was my saving grace with my first daughter. I could not lay her down without her crying due to silent reflux and severe gas pains. It broke my heart hearing her cry, but it was also exhausting having to hold her constantly. I would literally walk back and forth in our bedroom for over an hour sometimes just to get her to fall asleep. During the day, she wanted to be held. Babies LOVE being held. I don’t blame them. Besides, you cannot spoil a baby by holding them. They crave this skin to skin contact and it is so important. The best solution?  Literally wear them on your body. Pretty much tie them to you. Ha! Genius, right? It really is.

It makes complete sense if you think about it. They are a part of you (literally) for 10 months, give or take. They are used to the warmth of your body, the motion of your walk, and the sound of your heart beat. Babywearing allows your little ones the chance to feel secure by enjoying the comfort of those things they are used to- they actually call this the fourth trimester. I don’t know what I would have done without the wrap and carriers in my life when my daughter was born. I knew the second time around that a wrap was a necessity. Besides, who doesn’t love the smell of a precious newborn right under your nose. They are only this small for such a short period of time. Why not wear them closest to your heart.
